As a mum to two children and managing director of my own childcare and education business, I know how busy life can be and how this can impact on our lives. I stumbled across Fresh Air Fridays quite by chance on social media but the more I looked into it, the more I felt the resonation of its values and practices. So I took myself to a session with Jacqui in Liverpool and came back home reinvigorated and refreshed. The funny thing is that the ethos and practice that we follow in my childcare settings (one of which is completely outdoors in my own private woodland) encourages the holistic development of the children in our care through play and exploration in our beautiful natural world. However, in my busyness, I seemed to have forgotten to do the same for myself and I was feeling the negative impact of that. Fresh Air Fridays has helped me to reignite that in myself, to fill myself up first, to make self care a priority (for a change!) and I can honestly say that this has had such a positive impact across my life again, personally and professionally. Realising the positive impact that Fresh Air Fridays has, I wanted to be able to help others to benefit too so became a facilitator in October 2019 and shall soon be leading community sessions in our beautiful Lancashire countryside and the ‘Wellbeing that Works’ 12 week programme later this year. Please do come along! The first session is free and I know that you too will feel the benefit as much as I do and want to keep Fresh Air Fridays in your life. Follow me on my Fresh Air Fridays Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages too.
